Founders Registry
The Statue of Liberty’s history is founded on public support. The sculpture was a gift from the people of France to the people of the United States. And when it came to constructing the Statue’s pedestal – with donations as small as a penny – public contributions made it a reality.
The tradition continued in 1986 when contributors from around the world supported the Statue’s centennial restoration.
So, it was no surprise that thousands of individuals answered the call to fund the Statue of Liberty Museum. We celebrate these donors with the Founders Registry. The names of everyone giving $18.86 or more are listed in this database, which is accessible online and in person at the museum and forever commemorates each individual's role in creating this award-winning museum.
